Across America: Proving the Future of Electric Flight
H55’s Across America Tour brought clean aviation to life — showcasing our zero-emission Electric Propulsion System (EPS) across 8 U.S. States and 1 Canadian Province.
Over the course of 198 flights — including 171 passenger discovery flights — H55 engaged with flight schools, aviation universities, airport managers, the US Air Force, industry experts, government agencies, and the media.
From Florida to California and then to New York, professional pilots, flight instructors, students, and enthusiasts experienced electric flight first-hand. The tour wasn’t just a demonstration; it was a commercial and technological milestone.
H55 inaugurated its new Québec facility, sold out the first two years of production of the Bristell B23 Energic, and opened up the technological performance parameters envelop, proving that electric aviation is ready for real-world operations.

H55’s EPS delivered strong climb rates at 9,524 ft density altitude and 36 °C (97 °F), outperforming many combustion trainers in hot-and-high conditions, achieved significant noise reduction at 1/10th of intensity of the noise measured in comparison to piston aircraft (10-15 dB quieter, often below ambient levels), and recorded zero technical issues or battery degradation in high temperature environments.
The economics are equally as interesting. A flight hour in the B23 Energic costs barely $7, compared to around $60 for a similar combustion-engine aircraft. The advantage doesn’t stop there: taxi and run-up phases consume only minimal energy, translating to just a few cents in electricity versus double-digit fuel expenses.
Together with substantially lower maintenance requirements, these savings make the overall total cost of ownership more attractive.

We pioneered electric aviation with Solar Impulse when we crossed the U.S. in 2013 and again in 2016 as part of the round-the-world journey. Now, we are back with a consumer aircraft to continue the story. The Bristell B23 Energic represents the next chapter in sustainable aviation, bringing fully electric flight to general aviation and pilot training.
